It is known as superbug, scientists have recently discovered it.
Scientists from India’s IIT Madras and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory have reported that there is a bacteria present in the space station, which has become very powerful by mutating several times. Due to its presence on the space station, it is also being called Spacebug. In the language of scientists, its name is Enterobacter bugundensis. Scientists are concerned that this bacteria is in a completely different environment from the earth and it can develop resistance to medicines.
Super bug is acting differently from other organisms
In simple words, this bacteria cannot be affected by medicines, so it can prove to be a big threat to astronauts. Scientists have found in their research that its genetics are completely different from the ones living on earth, because it has the ability to mutate. This is why it is also being called a superbug. In space, this bug is acting differently from other small organisms, which has had a bad effect on astronauts.
The space environment is not suitable for humans
The super bug present on the space station can affect the respiratory system of the astronauts. Scientists said that the bacteria which do not have the ability to mutate in space get destroyed, but this one is mutating, in such a situation it can prove to be dangerous. The matter of concern is that the environment of space is very dangerous for human life, in such a situation the immune system of humans becomes weak in space. In such a situation, if the super bug attacks the astronauts, then it will be a danger signal for them.
